The trade in Bali is generally small scale cottage industries, often family based, and strict guidelines are followed to ensure Fair Trade is provided. Trading with developing countries is an attractive alternative to aid in that it helps their economy to grow, generating wealth that will, in time, filter through to the whole population and avoid the need for aid whilst allowing its population to retain their pride and give them hope for the future.
