A Fairtrade 30cm Giraffe mask. Tribal masks are hand-carved wooden masks that, in their original intent, were used to stand in for deities, protect their users from evil spirits or even increase the mask wearers' fertility and luck. They served many purposes, both in the privacy of people's homes and in everyday life.
Beautifully hand painted and hand carved, with amazing attention to detail.
Suitable for indoor or outdoor use. These masks have been coated in varnish, but to help to protect it and prolong the colours from the outdoors we recommend you to annually re-varnish it.
These beautiful pieces are individually hand crafted by skilled tradesmen in Bali. The trade in Bali is generally small scale cottage industries, often family based, and strict guidelines are followed to ensure Fair Trade is provided.
